Every car owner wants their car to be in great shape and offer a smooth driving experience for as long as possible. Now to make it happen, it is important to get the car serviced on time and pay heed to its condition to see if it demands any attention.
Negligence in maintaining your car can turn out to be an expensive affair. Although wear and tear between the parts with time are unavoidable, you can take some steps to delay it and minimise the cost of repair every time you visit a workshop. Here are some ways to do that:
1. Get the Car Serviced Regularly from Authorised Workshops
This cannot be emphasised enough. If you have a car, get it serviced regularly if you want to drive it for many years. Everyone goes to the authorised workshops for free services in the first year, but they resort to a local mechanic afterwards. The mechanic will service the car for a cheaper price, but it will be expensive in the long run when problems with the car slowly become more frequent.
2. Use Loyalty Programs
Getting a car serviced from an authorised workshop does not have to be an expensive affair on every visit. You can enrol in a loyalty program and get discounts on service. For instance, if you own a Maruti Suzuki car, then you can use the Maruti Suzuki Rewards app. On this app, enrolment in the loyalty program gives you an Auto Card which you can use to get points for every transaction at Maruti Suzuki, and later redeem those points whenever you would like to. These points also make you eligible for other complimentary gifts. This Maruti app has improved customer experience and satisfaction a lot.
3. Do Not Drive Frequently on Reserve
The purpose of the reserve fuel is to save enough fuel for you to drive to the nearest petrol pump and get the tank refilled. It is generally recommended by automobile experts to not drive frequently on the reserve fuel because with time sediments get settled at the bottom of the fuel tank. When you drive on reserve, the unwanted sediments get sucked into the car and quicken the wear and tear. The more you drive on Reserve, the more sediments affect the car. Avoid it as much as you can.
Looking after your car is not a difficult task. If you just keep these aforementioned points in mind, your car will last a long time and without any problems.
